The Pre-Spring lawn care checklist and what you need to watch out for

Getting your lawn ready for Spring

Hey 🌱

Spring is just around the corner, and as we eagerly await the first blooms and longer days, it's the perfect time to start thinking about our lawns.

Welcome to the UK Lawn Care Group's email - The largest private Lawn Care Facebook group in the UK.

  1. Spring into Lawn Care:

With the weather gently nudging above 10°C in some areas, our lawns are about to wake up from their winter slumber. Yet, with the unpredictable British weather and the potential for a late cold snap, timing our lawn care activities is crucial. Here's how we can start preparing our lawns for a lush spring, together:

  1. Clean Sweep:

Begin by clearing any debris, twigs, and leaves. A clean lawn not only looks good but also breathes better and is ready to soak up all the sunshine and nutrients.

  2. Moss & Weeds:

Keep an eye out for moss and early weeds. Addressing them now can prevent a bigger task later on. Community Tip: Share your most effective moss and weed solutions in our Facebook group!

  1. Aeration - Let Your Lawn Breathe:

Aerating helps oxygen, water, and nutrients reach the roots more effectively. Whether you're doing it the old-fashioned way with a fork or using a specialized tool, it's a great workout and your lawn will thank you for it.

  1. Hold off on seeding just yet due to the expected cold snap. However, it's a good time to plan. Once the weather stabilises, choose a high-quality seed that suits your lawn's needs. And remember, a little feed goes a long way in spring.

Next week we'll give you a full lawn care plan for Spring, product recommendations, and community highlights. Together, let's make this spring our lawns' best yet!

    Keep It Green,
