March Magic for Your Lawn: Quick Fixes for a Lush Spring!

Hey 🌱
March has arrived, bringing with it the promise of blooming daffodils, lighter evenings, and the awakening of our beloved lawns from their winter slumber.
Welcome to the UK Lawn Care Group's email - The largest private Lawn Care Facebook group in the UK.
Members of the UK Lawn Care Facebook group are starting to ask what should they be doing and when is it best to cut the lawn.
So here is our March checklist to give you the best lawn come Spring.
Early March Lawn Care Jobs:
It's time to roll up our sleeves and give our lawns the TLC they need to thrive. Here's your go-to checklist:
Tidy Up: Begin with a spring clean. Gently rake away any leaves, twigs, and other debris to prevent mould and pests. Remember, it's all about setting the stage for a healthy lawn.
Moss Control: If moss has been an unwelcome guest over winter, now's the time to address it. Consider a granular moss treatment and remember to rake out dead moss after a couple of weeks. Our community has shared some great DIY solutions, so be sure to check them out!
Here is the most popular moss control product used in the group right now – a community favourite for tackling moss quickly. Check it out here and let us know your thoughts!Aeration Time: Give your lawn room to breathe by aerating the soil. This helps relieve compaction, improve drainage, and encourage root growth. A garden fork can do the job but you may find it comes at the expense of your back. If you can I would strongly recommend hiring a machine for the day.
Weeding Out: Keep an eye out for early weeds. Hand-pulling might be a bit of a workout, but it's incredibly satisfying and effective. For persistent problems, spot treatment with a selective herbicide can work wonders, but let's share our organic solutions too!
First Mow: If the weather's on our side, and the grass shows signs of growth, it might be time for the first gentle mow of the season. Set your mower to a high cut to avoid stressing the grass and kick-start a lush, green appearance.
